Weaver Merges with Edelman Arnold in San Antonio

4 Dec 2009

Weaver, one of the largest independent certified public accounting firms in the nation, announces its merger with Edelman Arnold, effective 1 January 2010. This marks the second expansion of Weaver in the San Antonio market.
To accommodate the growth, Weaver is moving its San Antonio office to a 13,887-square foot office in SWBC Tower, 9311 San Pedro in the heart of San Antonio's North Central Loop 410 area.
Initially established in 1952 by the late Leonard Karpel, CPA, Edelman Arnold, a San Antonio-based accounting firm, is led by Barry Edelman, CPA, J.D. and Frank Arnold, CPA, PFS. The firm provides tax, accounting, business consulting and financial planning services. This includes developing tax minimisation strategies, asset protection plans and investment strategies that build a solid financial foundation.
"We are very excited about this merger," said Edward M. Polansky, CPA/PFS, Weaver's San Antonio executive partner. "Expanding our presence in San Antonio allows our firm to offer more services to our clients who base their business or have offices in this area. Merging with Edelman Arnold supports the growth of our tax and audit practices, as well as our wealth advisory practice."
Edelman will join Weaver as a senior managing director, Arnold as a partner and Karen Vescio as a senior manager. All of the firm's employees, including six certified public accountants join as well. The combined firm will use the Weaver name.
"Our clients will benefit from the added depth and breadth this merger with Weaver provides," said Edelman. "We will be better positioned to serve growing businesses throughout this region of the state and continue to build upon the personalised, close and enduring relationships we have established with our current clients."
