Following the merger of Collins Barrow Toronto and Smith Nixon, which created one of Toronto's largest audit practices with 22 partners and more than 130 professionals and staff, Baker Tilly International is delighted to announce that the Collins Barrow National Cooperative (Collins Barrow) has joined Baker Tilly International.

While Smith Nixon was a founding member of Baker Tilly International, Collins Barrow member firms were previously participants in Praxity.

Collins Barrow is Canada's largest association of chartered accountancy firms and the 8th largest public accounting organisation in Canada, with 23 member firms in 42 offices from coast to coast.

Known as Canada's mid-market alternative for audit, tax and advisory solutions, Collins Barrow has developed a reputation for quality and value added financial advice due to the depth and breadth of in-house skills, customised offerings, commitment to excellence in customer service and its national reach.

Collins Barrow serves companies from a cross section of industries and at all stages of development, from large publicly traded companies to emerging and owner-managed businesses.

"We are delighted to welcome Collins Barrow to the network", explains Geoff Barnes, Baker Tilly International CEO and president.

"In Collins Barrow we have found an association of firms of likeminded culture, commitment to excellence and service delivery standards, and who complete our representation in Canada, providing comprehensive coverage across this vital G8 nation".

"We were very impressed with what we learned about Baker Tilly International from our friends at Smith Nixon", said Lionel Goldman, chair of Collins Barrow.

"From our interaction with Baker Tilly International over these past several months, we are confident that this is going to be a very good fit indeed."

Baker Tilly International is the 8th largest accountancy and business advisory network in the world by combined fee income of its independent members. Its members specialise in providing accountancy and business services to entrepreneurial, growing businesses and mid-market listed corporates worldwide.
