14 Jul 2010
Baker Tilly International is pleased to announce that
Vocation International CPAs (VICPA), the 9th
largest accounting firm in China, has merged with Baker Tilly
China. The newly combined entity will operate as Baker Tilly
China.
"I am delighted to announce this major development for our
network", said Geoff Barnes, CEO and president, Baker Tilly
International.
"The Chinese accountancy profession is in a period of evolution,
with the government encouraging consolidation in the market to
create a small number of large national firms. With offices in all
the major financial and commercial centres in China, including
Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hunan, the addition of VICPA
provides us with a powerful presence in China."
"In Baker Tilly International we have found a network of
like-minded firms committed to excellence that enables us to
deliver a high quality international service to our clients", said
Mr Chen Yonghong, chairman of the board of VICPA.
"Sharing skills, resources and information is a key element of
the network's culture, the benefit of which will be passed on to
our clients."
VICPA has offices in 12 locations across China, with more than
1,200 professional staff. The firm's client base includes companies
listed on the Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong stock exchanges,
state-owned enterprises and those in the private sector. VICPA was
previously a member of UHY International.
