Baker Tilly International Adopts Chinese Name
14 Oct 2010
Baker Tilly International has adopted "天 职 国 际" as its Chinese
name.
Meaning independence, objectivity, fairness and social
responsibility, combined with an international vision, 天 职 国 际 is
the Chinese name of Baker Tilly China, formerly Vocation
International CPAs (VICPA).
"It is fundamental in today's economic environment that
accounting firms and networks have strong representation in China,
the fastest growing, and soon to be the major, global economy. In
the same way, it is, at this moment in time, vital for Chinese
accounting firms to have strong international connections to be
able to service the growing number of Chinese businesses investing
abroad" explains Geoff Barnes, CEO and president of Baker Tilly
International.
"In Baker Tilly China we have found a powerful firm that shares
our vision. We both wish to be acknowledged as premier providers of
client services, with a commitment to the development of our people
and contribution to our national institutes and organisations. We
are proud to take Baker Tilly China's Chinese name as our Chinese
brand name across the network."
VICPA joined Baker Tilly International in July 2010, merging
with the network's existing representation in China and rebranding
as Baker Tilly China. Baker Tilly China is the 8th largest firm in
China (outside the Big 4).
Last month in The Great Hall of the People and in the presence
of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the State-Owned
Asset Administration & Supervision Committee, the Chinese
Securities Regulatory Committee, the People's Republic Bank, the
China Banking Institute, the Chinese Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (CICPA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in
England and Wales (ICEAW) and leaders from numerous governmental
departments, the ceremony of co-operation between Baker Tilly China
and Baker Tilly International took place.
Baker Tilly China will be the network's sole representative in
China.
"The adoption of 天 职 国 际 by the network is a major step towards
achieving our goal of internationalising our business", explains Mr
Yonghong Chen, chairman of the board of Baker Tilly China.
"Our membership of Baker Tilly International will afford us
access to support in delivering on our commitments to regulators,
local authorities and our clients, and support in developing and
training our top talent."
