Combined firm among the 40 largest public accounting and consulting firms in the United States

Florida's largest independent public accountant firm Morrison, Brown, Argiz & Farra, LLC (MBAF), an independent member of Baker Tilly International, and New York-based accounting and consulting firm servicing the Tri-State area, ERE, LLP, announced today that they have combined. The union creates one of the top 40 largest accounting and consulting firms in the United States with more than US$85m in annual revenue.

Combined, the two respected accounting and consulting firms will be a premier organisation with more than 400 staff members. Core practices will focus on tax and accounting, audit, technology consulting, litigation support, business valuation, fiscal and infrastructure consulting, trusts and estates, and private wealth services. The firm's service offerings extend to technology, healthcare, real estate, sports, entertainment and non-profit, among other industries. The combined firm will have offices in Miami, New York, Baltimore, Boca Raton, Boulder, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Valhalla and India. As a result, ERE will become MBAF-ERE CPAs, LLC, a division of MBAF.

The unification also offers expansion opportunities for affiliate consulting firms, Fiscal Management Associates, LLC (FMA) and Solutions@MBAF, LLC.  FMA, an affiliate of ERE, focuses on business consulting services to the non-profit sector and has offices in Chicago and New York. It will provide synergy to MBAF's extensive non-profit accounting and auditing practice. In addition, Solutions@MBAF offers technology consulting services to organisations on a local and international level in networking and communications, software development and integration, business process automation, computer assurance and customer service solutions.

"We were looking to strategically expand and found a mutually beneficial opportunity with ERE, a strong and valued firm in its markets," said Tony Argiz, CEO and managing partner at MBAF. "By joining forces, we are further strengthening our high-level of commitment to client service across multiple markets and industries."
"This union represents a major milestone for both firms, broadening our practice areas and allowing us to increase our client base in the Southeast," said Ira Rubenstein, managing partner of ERE. "To start, it will enhance and strengthen our capabilities so that our current and potential clients will benefit from expanded services and expertise. It will also increase our reach and visibility, driving growth in both new business sectors and in existing ones."
