Ted Verkade Named Regional Chairman for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)

26 Feb 2013

Ted Verkade, partner in Baker Tilly Berk, will serve as chairman of Baker Tilly International's EMEA Regional Advisory Council, effective immediately. Ted succeeds Eyal Horowitz whose focus returns to the continued growth and development of his own firm, Baker Tilly (in Israel)*.

Ted previously served as regional chairman from 2004 until 2011.

Commenting on his re-appointment Ted said: "During my initial tenure as chairman our focus was firmly on building representation across the region, ensuring we have the right firm in each of the region's key markets. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work closely with these exceptional firms again. Our focus is now on driving international business growth and developing our members' services and capabilities in the region, and ensuring we are recognised as the leading service provider in the middle market."

Ted will be supported by Adam Grainger, regional operations officer.

Geoff Barnes, CEO and president, Baker Tilly International, said: "EMEA is a region with a lot of untapped potential. In particular we have an ambitious strategy to grow our operations across Africa, a region that is seeing increased activity by multinational businesses. Ted has been closely involved with the development of the network for many years and brings to the role a wealth of knowledge and experience. I look forward to working with him as we continue to implement our strategy to be recognised as a global network of closely aligned, premier, independent accounting firms serving leading national and global organisations.

"My thanks go to Eyal for his enthusiasm in and commitment to driving the region forward during his term as chairman."
