Baker Tilly Monteiro Heng and Moore Stephens AC have completed a merger that has created the six largest accounting and auditing firm in Malaysia.
The new entity will trade as Baker Tilly.
The firm now has a client base of around 100 PLCs served by a team of 500 professionals operating from offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Seremban, Kemaman, Batu Pahat, Labuan and Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Speaking at the official merger ceremony last week, executive chairman of Baker Tilly Heng Ji Keng said: "The merger strengthens our core service lines, allowing us to meet the growing needs of local corporations and multinationals in a rapidly changing world. In essence, a wider spectrum of clientele transcending national boundaries will be able to reap the benefits from this merger".
The firm has plans to further expand its client portfolio and double its work force to serve these new clients.
"The merger of two illustrious names in the accounting industry can only mean one thing: a dynamic transformation of the accounting landscape" explains Heng. "This merger is in line with our combined vision and strategy to consolidate and elevate our market position and at the same time leverage on our respective strengths and resources. This merger paves the way for Baker Tilly to set new industry benchmarks, ensure quality standards, and achieve greater heights of excellence in serving its clients with the signature Baker Tilly core values of integrity, quality and talent."
