HMA Chartered Accountants
HMA Chartered Accountants LLP, the largest professional accounting firm in Northern Manitoba, Canada, has joined Baker Tilly International member firm Collins Barrow National Cooperative. Now operating as Collins Barrow HMA, the firm is part of an expanding network comprised of 23 independent member firms across Canada.
HMA is a full service firm providing comprehensive accounting and advisory services to clients in key industries such as health care, non-profit, hospitality and professional services. With offices in Winnipeg and The Pas, HMA was the first Manitoba firm to extend service to both the northern and southern regions of the province.
“Our firm has deep ties to the community and this home grown approach to business was pivotal in our decision to join Collins Barrow,” says Brent Morrish, managing partner of HMA. “Nobody knows our clients better than we do. While gaining from the strength of Collins Barrow’s national network we maintain our autonomy and independence - there is no limit to the variety of service offerings we can now provide. Today, we have the potential to enrich our practice and reach the next level.”
“Collins Barrow is continuing to deepen its roots across the country. As part of our growth strategy we are constantly on the lookout for leading firms, like HMA, that are characterised by an entrepreneurial outlook and commitment to service excellence,” says Harry Blum, chair of Collins Barrow National’s Firm Recruitment Initiative. “HMA demonstrates an intense dedication to results and innovation that befits a Collins Barrow firm.”
“Collins Barrow is proud to welcome HMA to the network,” says Dan Longlade, chair of Collins Barrow National. “We are excited to be breaking new ground in Manitoba as Collins Barrow continues to expand geographically.”
ParkerQuine LLP, an accounting firm providing service throughout Western Canada since 1920, has joined the Collins Barrow National Cooperative. Now operating as Collins Barrow PQ, the firm is part of a rapidly expanding network comprised of 24 independent member firms across Canada. This Saskatchewan addition follows on the heels of a similar announcement out of Manitoba last week. The move rounds out Collins Barrow’s footprint in the Prairies where the network continues to strengthen its market presence.
“ParkerQuine has a long history of providing high quality advice and personal attention to our clients,” says Rick Kozachenko, partner and CEO at ParkerQuine. “In searching for ways to grow our business, we saw a like-minded approach underway at Collins Barrow. By joining the network we are upholding our tradition of excellence while seizing the opportunity to add to our bench strength, ensuring that we can provide clients with an extensive array of expertise they need to succeed in business.”
This represents the third merger into Collins Barrow following the launch of its ambitious growth strategy, which invites leading mid-market firms to ‘punch above their weight class’ by tapping into a national network of talent and resources.
“Today, Collins Barrow is taking a multi-faceted approach to growth,” says Harry Blum, chair of Collins Barrow National’s Firm Recruitment Initiative. “By expanding geographically and broadening the scope of our service offerings, we are building a stronghold on our position as Canada’s mid-market leader for audit, tax and advisory solutions.”
“Our growth continues to be strategic with a view to attracting the highest quality firms in select markets,” says Dan Longlade, chair of Collins Barrow National. “As our market coverage expands across Canada, we are also deepening our value proposition to provide our clients with a one-stop shop platform for all their financial needs.”
