The Sydney, Australia firms of Pitcher Partners and Moore Stephens have announced they will merge their practices effective 31 October 2015. The combined firm will operate as Pitcher Partners and will be led by current Moore Stephens managing director, Rob Southwell.
“This will be a game-changing event in the Sydney accounting space”, says Rob Southwell.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our two firms and the benefits to our staff and clients will be significant”, said Rob Southwell. “We have long respected the Pitcher Partners Association – and the Sydney practice’s culture of commitment to their clients and staff closely aligns with ours. Pitcher Partners has a long and proud history as specialist middle market service providers and they have an enviable reputation in this space. They have a really strong and solid network in Australia. That combined with the strength and breadth of reach they have through the global Baker Tilly International network, will enable us to provide even better service, no matter where our clients want to do business. It will also open up a number of benefits to our staff in terms of training and development opportunities in Australia and abroad”.
Don Rankin, national chair of the Pitcher Partners Association said, “This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for Moore Stephens and Pitcher Partners in Sydney and for the entire Pitcher Partners Association. The greater size and strength we will now have in Sydney will improve our competitiveness and provide a platform for growth. It will provide clients with a quality Australian firm with enormous depth that is focussed on the middle market”.
The Pitcher Partners Association includes firms in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane and Newcastle. With the addition of Moore Stephens Sydney, there are 110 partners and close to 1,200 staff. The Pitcher Partners Association is an independent member of Baker Tilly International.
