Baker Tilly International member firm Cherry Bekaert LLP has announced the acquisition of Frasier, Dean & Howard, PLLC (FDH), one of Nashville’s largest certified public accounting firms. This strategic joining of forces expands Cherry Bekaert’s service footprint into the Nashville, Tennessee, market.

In combining with FDH, Cherry Bekaert enters the Nashville market as one of the ten largest CPA and consulting firms servicing Middle Tennessee, with eleven partners and more than 50 associates in the new Nashville practice. Cherry Bekaert targeted Nashville for expansion possibilities due to the city’s diverse and growing economy and innovative business climate that attracts and caters to the Firm’s core industry sectors of technology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, distribution, transportation, logistics, healthcare, education and non-profits.

“Cherry Bekaert has the desire to expand into growing markets that can benefit from our industry-focused, growth advisory service approach, so Nashville has been at the top of our list for some time,” commented Howard J. Kies, CPA, firm managing partner of Cherry Bekaert. “Given its longevity and strong reputation for client service, FDH was a perfect match to help us enter the Nashville market. THInc, our specialty practice that serves the innovative needs of technology, health and life sciences, and industrial clients, will be a key growth driver for our combined firms going forward.”

Founded in 1975 by Charles Frasier, FDH established a tradition of trust and reliability in working with a wide cross section of clients in Middle Tennessee. Mr Frasier’s commitment to his clients, colleagues and the larger community serves as a lasting legacy to his fellow partners and associates who make personal attention a hallmark of their service approach.

FDH professionals joining Cherry Bekaert as partners include Barry Dean, Stephen Dolan, Jeffrey Fox, Edd Haynes, Jason Hoard, David Howard, Gay Moon, Steven Riley, Jeffrey Smith and Robert Weatherly. Chase Wright, CPA, an assurance and advisory partner with Cherry Bekaert, will also be a part of the Nashville practice.

“Our clients will benefit from Cherry Bekaert’s expansive suite of specialty services,” said Barry Dean, co-managing partner of FDH and new partner at Cherry Bekaert. “Cherry Bekaert’s reputation with industries important to Nashville’s economy will serve as an ongoing catalyst for our growth as one firm.”
